Day One Hundred and Two - Racing the Rain Home

A good day of heavy rains to start topping up the wells.

  1. Such a good picture! The rain looks amazing against the trees and the lad looks like he is being pressed down by it.

  3. I was under cover - at the 'sports stadium'! The Ite roofing is incredible at keeping out even this heavy rain. Later I will actually venture out more in the rain, but for the moment it seems to have eased off a bit.

  4. Very atmospheric, especially with the boy leaning over the bike and the colour contrast. The rain looks almost like an etching (on my pc anyway), subtle but intense. Rain landscapes are unusual, possibly because of the light? - I suppose photographers prefer brightness - but there is often something joyful about them - perhaps the vicarious feeling of getting soaked but knowing you can get home where it's warm and dry! This one is really engaging, perhaps because we know from Sarah's blog how important the rain is.

  5. Hi eblaite72... Interesting thoughts about the light and rain photography - for me Steve McCurry is the expert in low light photography (I think he has very sensitive eyes and prefers to work without flash in low light conditions), but there doesn't seem to be a lot of rain used in photography - maybe something to work on more.
