  1. Right - Now this is a common Butterfly where you are. It is related to the common peacock in England and is in fact a White peacock (Anartia jatrophae). Like our Peacock it is a member of the Nymphalid family (Brush footed butterflies)The male is a fierce defender of its territory and can be seen chasing off competing males. It has a strong irratic flight pattern making it a difficult catch for predators. Winston
