- James Broscombe spent 520 days between March 2009 and October 2010 living in the remote Deep South of Guyana. Living in an Amerindian Village in a tradition thatch house enabled James to makes friends in the local community and compile a unique daily photo blog exploring lifestyles and customs of the Amerindian people of the North Amazon region.

ReplyDeleteHilarious to see Aichauzu and Konainmo looking anything other than bolshy and in charge! This one is crying out for a 1890's National Geographic b&wh or even sepia treatment.

ReplyDeleteWhat I love about these pictures is there modern sensitivity despite the traditional costumes. In our church we have a Korean family who come to the main celebrations of the year in traditional Korean costumes even the grand children, though not there grown children who come in modern North American dress. There grandchildren show the same facial expressions as do these Amerindian children in full traditional best!
